Nyabyeya Needs our Hearts!

In the early years of WWII many Poles were deported by Soviets to labour camps in Siberia. In 1941, the British initiated an agreement which allowed women, children, and men, not of fighting age, to be sent from gulags to British Commonwealth countries. A group of app. 3600 Polish refugees settled in Uganda forming a community in the village of Nyabyeya. Here, they were warmly welcomed and survived the war.

We feel our historical responsibility and seek to create a link between Poland and Uganda that aides this community while honoring the historic facts.

End Polio now!

Rotary International helps fund the initiative to eradicate Polio worldwide in cooperation with the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation. Rotary members have contributed more than $2.1 billion and countless volunteer hours to protect nearly 3 billion children in 122 countries from this paralyzing disease. Rotary’s advocacy efforts have played a role in decisions by governments to contribute more than $10 billion to the effort.

We’ve reduced cases by 99.9% since 1988.

Corona Virus Response

The coronavirus is the biggest threat the world has faced for decades. As the coronavirus pandemic hits more and more countries with fragile health care systems, global health authorities are scrambling for supplies of a simple treatment that saves lives: oxygen.

Many patients severely ill with Covid-19 require help with breathing at some point. Organized as a joint project involving several Warsaw Rotary Clubs we donated to the Warsaw MSWiA hospital three sets of oxygen equipment (AIRVO2).

The funds were collected within our members help to treat patients suffering from Covid-19.
